Guide for Using Audacity to Cut and Merge Music

Download the Audacity app and install it using the link:

Upload the waiting music file and the recorded greeting that has been converted to WAV format.

Go to File → Import → Audio → Select the WAV file.

Adjust the volume of the background music and the recorded voice. For example: Set the voice level to +8, and the background music to -16.

To cut the music if the background track is too long:

  • Select the portion you want to edit.

  • Press Ctrl + X to cut.

To adjust the volume of a music segment:

  • Select Effect → Fading → Fade In (to increase volume) or Fade Out (to decrease volume).

Export the WAV file after completing the edits:

  • Go to File → Export → Export as WAV.
